We believe payments should be simple, compliant, and integrated into the same system you already use for documentation, outcomes, and coordination.
ACH Payments
Fee: 4.0% per transaction
Why ACH:

ACH is typically the most cost-effective option for both centers and participants. We recommend ACH as the default whenever possible.
Credit Cards
Fee: 6.5% per transaction
Credit cards offer convenience and flexibility for participants but come with higher underlying network and fraud-prevention costs.
We offer credit cards to reduce friction and expand access, while pricing them sustainably so we can continue investing in the platform.
Althea’s system is configurable to pass through a service fee to clients to share in the costs of credit card fees. (Example: passing through a 2.5% fee to clients will equalize fees across ACH/CC at a flat 4%.)
Practice Expansion Credits
When you process credit card payments through Althea, 2.0% of your transaction volume accrues as Practice Expansion Credits (PX Credits).
PX Credits can be used for:
- Practice Expansion Membership
- Tricycle Day newsletter sponsorships
- Featured placement, event promotion, additional listings in the Althea Directory
- Sponsored content or future demand-generation tools
This means part of your payment volume is reinvested directly into visibility and demand for regulated psychedelic care.

Do I need to pay to use Althea?
No. We believe in the power of psychedelics, and we want to do our part to help new practitioners and businesses off the ground. To help, we will offer our compliance and client management features for free, forever.
When does the 4% Althea fee apply?
For each transaction processed in the Althea software. When clients pay or facilitators book rooms or any other transaction, a 4% fee is processsed along with the payment.
Are there any setup or monthly fees?
Not a one. No hidden fees. No contracts.
How legal are these payments?
Payment processing in Althea is completely safe and above board. We know a lot of people have been shut out off Stripe, Square, Venmo, Paypal, and the list goes on. No more worrying about getting shut down. These transactions are safe.
Can I use Althea payments if I'm not in the legal, licensed state programs?
Unfortunately, no. Already, payments in this industry are risky. We have established partners to help make sure this process remains intact, but that means being part of the state-licensed programs.
