What is Psilocybin Therapy?

  • Psilocybin therapy is a therapeutic approach that uses a significant dose of psilocybin (a psychoactive compound found in certain mushrooms) to aid in the treatment of mental health concerns like depression, anxiety, PTSD, and prolonged grief.
  • After preparation work, a client takes psilocybin under the guidance of a trained and licensed facilitator inside a state licensed center.
  • The psilocybin induces an altered mental state that can help the client explore deep psychological and emotional processes.
  • The facilitator supports the client throughout that experience. After the administration session, the facilitator works with the client to discuss their experience and apply insights from the experience into daily life.
  • Psilocybin therapy is legal, under state-regulated programs in Oregon and Colorado.
