Althea and Thank You Life relaunch the Forward Fund to make psilocybin care more affordable.
BOULDER, CO — Care is expensive. Healing shouldn’t be.
Althea, the leading infrastructure provider for regulated psychedelic therapy, and Thank You Life, a pioneering nonprofit supporting access to psychedelic healing, today announced a partnership to expand the Forward Fund—a program designed to help people afford legal psilocybin therapy in Oregon and Colorado.
Originally launched in March 2025, the Forward Fund lets participants and supporters directly “pay it forward” through Althea’s platform, which is used by most licensed psilocybin centers across both states. Through this new partnership, Thank You Life will manage the Forward Fund, enabling all contributions to qualify as tax-deductible charitable donations through their 501(c)(3).
The Forward Fund creates a simple, transparent system of reciprocity between donors, facilitators, and participants. Clients can pay it forward during checkout for their own sessions. Facilitators can nominate applicants to receive subsidies, helping them offer sliding-scale pricing without absorbing the financial loss.
A newly launched Corporate Giving Program now invites mission-aligned companies to underwrite full psilocybin therapy journeys for recipients in need. These commitments directly expand access while signaling a company’s support for mental health, equity, and community well-being. Tricycle Day, a popular psychedelic media company, became the inaugural corporate partner and sponsored the first journey of the program. Additional contributors to the corporate giving program are Odyssey, Fun Guy, Healing Hearts Changing Minds, and Human Liberation.
“Our entire industry is trying to solve the same challenge: how to make this care affordable while ensuring providers can make a living,” said Niko Skievaski, Co-Founder and CEO of Althea. “Every dollar that flows through the Forward Fund helps someone step into healing they might otherwise put off or never receive because of financial constraints. Partnering with Thank You Life ensures this effort is managed responsibly, transparently, and with the long-term infrastructure it deserves.”
Thank You Life, which began its mission by working with ketamine-assisted psychotherapy (KAP) clinics to subsidize access for people unable to afford care, sees this as a natural next step as they’ve recently expanded to include other medicines.
“This partnership marks a significant step in our expansion into the regulated psilocybin space, and we’re excited to see the impact that the Forward Fund will make there,” said Meredith Thomas, Co-Executive Director of Thank You Life. “We’ve long believed that the most profound healing happens in community. Managing the Forward Fund lets us bring that philosophy into action by connecting generosity directly to access.”
Together, Althea and Thank You Life aim to demonstrate a sustainable model for equitable access as psychedelic therapy continues to expand nationwide.
