Last week, we released a set of new features that fundamentally expanded Althea workflows to meet Oregon’s psilocybin program requirements. This not only includes the latest regulatory compliance for Facilitators and Service Centers, but also some of the nuance in how information should be shared between these service providers.
I wanted to write a post to share more about how we designed the system from the ground up for this unique market. Althea is currently in a place where, without any configuration, it can be used to bring a client (or group) through an entire journey. This includes gathering all of the required OHA forms and documenting everything necessary for SB 303 data reporting. And most importantly, doing this in a way that only shares appropriate information with each party, keeping client data private.
Made for Oregon
We’re laser-focused on helping the Oregon program work. We’ve heard how challenging and costly it is to operate in the licensed space. Our goal is make it a bit easier, with tools built specifically for this unique program, offered for free to licensees.
Granular Permissions
Facilitators take clients through their journey of preparation, administration, and integration. However, Service Centers are required to gather, store, and report certain information to OPS. Additionally, clients might originate with a Facilitator or with a Service Center.
Most software systems don’t provide the granular data-sharing required to meet these needs (not to mention the high price for the many licenses they require). This is because they weren’t made for this small and unique market. They were designed for medical use cases, where a clinic administrator has access to all of the records of patients seen there.
In our space, Service Centers are not clinics, in the healthcare sense of the word. They shouldn’t have access to, nor do they want access to, the detailed notes and communications between a client and a Facilitator. We designed Althea to solve this problem at its core.
Facilitators can operate independently, sharing only what’s necessary across any Service Center they work with.
Service Centers don’t have to manage these workflows, reducing their administrative tasks. And get the peace of mind that the right documentation is being captured for compliance, and data is being managed appropriately.
Sending OHA Forms
Forms can be sent by either Facilitators or Service Centers, right from the dashboard. Users can choose which forms to send. Once the forms are reviewed and signed, they’re filed back into the system, accessible to Facilitators and Service Centers.

Group Sessions
We heard from many of you that groups are unwieldy to manage. We created the ability to add multiple clients to a single session, and track the status of each.

SB 303 Reporting
Facilitators and Service Centers can document the required details pertaining to a client’s administration session including dosage and adverse reactions. On the backend, Althea will aggregate this, and other required SB303 data gathered at intake, making Service Center compliance reporting simple.
