A Training Webinar for Facilitators by Heroic Hearts Project
Date: Jun 10, 2025
Time: 12pm – 2pm MT (2 hours)
Location: Virtual
Veterans carry unique experiences, challenges, and strengths that can significantly shape their healing journeys. This two-hour webinar is designed specifically for psychedelic facilitators who want to deepen their understanding of working skillfully and compassionately with veterans.
In this training, we’ll explore the landscape of trauma in the veteran population—including combat trauma, military sexual trauma, traumatic brain injury (TBI), and substance use disorders—and how these experiences intersect with the healing potential of psychedelic-assisted therapy (PAT). You’ll gain essential insights into military culture, values, and identity—elements that deeply inform the therapeutic process but are often unfamiliar to civilian practitioners.
We’ll also dive into key clinical considerations such as moral injury, survivor guilt, suicide prevention, and the complexities of readjusting to civilian life. Through this lens, the training offers practical strategies for building trust, navigating sensitive conversations, and supporting veterans through their unique healing process.
Whether you’re already working with veterans or hope to in the future, this webinar will provide valuable tools and cultural fluency to help you show up with greater confidence, empathy, and effectiveness. Join the Heroic Hearts Project to honor and support those who have served—and to better understand how to help them heal.
